Description
Presented by RI Food Policy Council
Today, tens of thousands of Rhode Islanders face growing food insecurity. Federal policies have led to immigrants, refugees, and many other working families losing access to SNAP. Even without these changes we would still need to work to provide good food to students, cut through state tax technicalities harming urban farmers, and keep good food out of our rapidly landfill.
With such dramatic changes to the landscape of food access and supply, the RI Food Policy Council’s policy agenda was created to meet the moment. You can view those policy solutions here.
Our upcoming Good Food Policy Day at the RI State House is among our best opportunities yet to educate state lawmakers on the stakes and showcase support for effective solutions together. Please join us!
