nt Title: Holding Court: The Trump 2.0 DOJ on Trial\nStart Date / Time: Ma
 y 20, 2026 15:00 PM US/Eastern\nLocation: \nSpeaker: Liz Oyer, Rachel Ross
i\nPresented by the Alliance for Justice.\n \nAlliance for Justice is invi
ting you to join us on Wednesday, May 20, from 3&ndash\;4 p.m. ET for Hold
ing Court: The Trump DOJ on Trial. Holding Court is a virtual conversation
series featuring leading attorneys, progressive advocates, politicians, a
nd thought leaders exploring today&rsquo\;s most pressing social justice i
ssues. Join us on Wednesday, May 20. This will be a timely discussion exam
ining tensions between the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the courts, the
current administration&rsquo\;s willingness to defy court orders, and the
impact of widespread DOJ departures. Moderated in a Q&amp\;A format by AF
J President Rachel Rossi, the event will feature insights from guest panel
ist Liz Oyer, former U.S. Pardon Attorney.\n \nThe second Trump DOJ has ma
de many headlines since his inauguration: such as the firing of Attorney G
eneral Pam Bondi, the indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)
, and numerous accusations of defying federal court orders. An estimated 6
,000 people have left the DOJ over the last 16 months &mdash\; resulting i
n a backlog of cases and a severe shortage of lawyers on staff. Some depar
ted employees have cited shifting DOJ priorities as a reason for leaving.
The recent indictment of the SPLC for alleged fraud and money laundering h
 as raised questions about whether or not President Trump is truly &ldquo\;
weaponizing&rdquo\; the DOJ for his own benefit instead of staying with th
e agency&rsquo\;s core mission: to uphold the rule of law, to keep the Uni
ted States safe, and to protect civil rights. Holding Court: The Trump DOJ
on Trial will take place via StreamYard and streamed through AFJ&rsquo\;s
YouTube channel and LinkedIn page. StreamYard webinars do not have automa
tic closed captioning, but there are captions on LinkedIn. The event will
be recorded.\n \nRegister Here\n\n--- This iCal file does *NOT* confirm re
