From Alan Krinsky, at the Economic Progress Institute:

his is just a reminder note that we have a meeting this Friday at noon of the Rhode Island Coalition for Predatory Lending Reform at noon on Zoom. Info is in the calendar invite, but here's the link just in case: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86012136706?pwd=yOuNqOveJbYA25y0PaUGFEgyjzRnHe.1

The meeting will include a 15-minute presentation from the Center for Responsible Lending (CRL) on the issues raised by the legislation supported by the Coalition.

Also, for anyone who is interested, CRL recently published a report on OppFi, the fintech company that has been the most active lobbying in Rhode Island to protect their rent-a-bank loan products. Here is a link to the report: https://www.responsiblelending.org/research-publication/lost-opportunities-how-oppfi-traps-borrowers-unaffordable-debt

And this Thursday at 2 p.m., CRL is presenting a webinar on the report. Registration link is here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_DlyEa-z8QfOmKCpwCL4aVA#/registration
