Clinical Director

Description

YPI is seeking the ideal candidate for the Clinical Director position. The right individual will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of YPI and the ability to work successfully with youth with diverse backgrounds, circumstances, and perspectives. The Clinical
Director will oversee the coordination of mental health services, supervise clinical trainees, and report to the Executive Director. This is a full-time, non-unionized position, 40 hours a week, generally occurring between 1 PM and 8 PM Mondays through Fridays,
with the option to work remotely one day a week. Some weekends are required. We can be flexible in planning work hours upon hire. The starting rate of pay is $35-40 per hour, depending on experience.

 

We are looking for a person who can bring a high level of energy and creativity to duties that include: 

 

  • Providing individual counseling to LGBTQ+ youth ages 5-24, at times involving advocacy, community collaboration, and coordination with YPI case managers.

  • Overseeing the work of per-diem clinicians and other clinical staff.

  • Supervising the work of select interns, trainees, and volunteers.

  • Coordinating referrals to YPI case management and community services, including housing, medical care, mental health support, education, job training, and basic needs. 

  • Spending time and building rapport with youth during our drop-in hours.

  • Completing case notes in a timely manner and maintaining accurate client records.

  • Collecting data on services provided and youth served.

  • Planning, supporting, and developing programs and services that are responsive to the needs of LGBTQ+ youth and advance YPI’s mission.  

  • Attending relevant community meetings, committee service, and fund development events.

  • Opportunities to work on case management projects, including tasks specific to RI housing services, Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), and other grant funding.

  • Other related duties as assigned

Youth Pride, Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits program, which includes three weeks of paid vacation time, 15 paid federal holidays, and two paid weeks of center closures - the week of the 4th of July and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. You can also choose between Blue Cross Blue Shield or Neighborhood Health Plan for health and dental, or a yearly reimbursement dispersed each pay period if you do not utilize our insurance. We reimburse travel at the current federal mileage reimbursement rate.

Job Requirements

Experience
Experience supervising graduate-level and pre-licensed clinicians. Experience providing outpatient behavioral health treatment to a diverse population of youth and young adults. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with trans/gender non-conforming youth. Experience conducting training and leadership development workshops. Demonstrated ability to think strategically about and implement concepts of diversity, inclusion, intercultural relations, youth identity development, and LGBTQ+ support.
Skills
Culturally-informed competency in working with individuals identifying as LGBTQ+. Ability to handle confidential information and familiarity with mandated reporting laws. Ability to work successfully and cooperatively within a team of administrators, staff, and volunteers. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent public speaking and group facilitation skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Education Required
Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field. Independently licensed in Rhode Island as an LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist, or other mental health provider.
