211 is what constant, trusted help looks like over time: Commentary
When United Way first launched 211 in Rhode Island nearly two decades ago, sharing information looked very different than it does today. In those early days, I remember driving to community organizations around the state with a CD to download the most up-to-date version of our resource database onto their computers. It was a practical solution at the time and reflects something that’s remained true ever since: access to accurate information makes a tremendous difference.
