Alliance for Nonprofit Impact's Vision
For all nonprofits in Rhode Island, especially BIPOC-led and smaller organizations, to have the resources and skills they need to continue serving their commuinties and push for systematic change.
Our Mission
Our mission is to strengthen Rhode Island nonprofit organizations, empower and equip nonprofit staff, and improve nonprofit partnerships with government, funders and the public, so together we can build equitable communities where all Rhode Islanders can thrive.
Our Values
Centering Nonprofits --We are responsive to and led by Rhode Island nonprofits. We recognize the strength and autonomy each organization brings, and we will continuously evolve to best support their work. Through collaboration, we know we can build a strong, sustainable secotor of growing, thriving nonprofits. We also work to raise the visibility of the nonprofit sector’s important contributions, and work to build a strong, sustainable sector of growing, thriving nonprofits.
Racial Equity -- We value the impact that organizations led by BIPOC to communities. We are committed to challenging unjust systems and ensuring BIPOC-led organizations have the freedom, access to resources, and knowledge to thrive.
Accessibility -- We work to ensure all services and spaces are accessible physically and with regard to disability, language, geography, race, ethnicity, and financial means.
Intersectionality -- We recognize that various identities are imbued with differential historical legacies of power and marginalization and make each of us individuals. We aim to build deeper understanding, connection, and support across identity-based communities so that together our different organizations can have a more meaningful impact for the people of Rhode Island.
Cultivating Connections -- We know that we are stronger when we work together. We connect nonprofits with each other so that they can share knowledge and resources, with funders in pursuit of more equitable access to resources, and with policymakers to push for systemic change.
The Alliance operates under the leadership of the United Way of Rhode Island and is a pillar of United Way's new strategic plan to build a:
