Description

Presented by Rhode Island for Community and Justice

Not your “typical summer camp,” Project RESPECT Youth Leadership Institute is a week-long residential summer program that provides rising freshman, sophomores, juniors, or seniors (14-19 years old) with a unique opportunity to live and interact with a diverse group of students who come together to build a
community based on inclusivity, respect, and understanding.

This year’s program will be held June 22nd, 2026 - June 27th, 2026.

Round-trip transportation from Providence is provided. Financial aid is available. Held annually, Project RESPECT gives participants an experiential education in leadership grounded in social justice issues. High school students from diverse geographic, socioeconomic, cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds come as
advocates from their schools, places of worship, and other community institutions and organizations. Participants take on important social issues facing our communities, and work together to create solutions for our future. This leadership institute is intense, engaging, and, many would say, life changing. This residential weeklong experience cost $1,000 per student. To reserve a spot, a deposit is needed and financial aid is available depending on income.
