Tamara Johnson is Chief Executive Officer of Malaika Early Learning Center, which operates programs for children from birth through age eight at two state-of-the-art facilities in Milwaukee, Wisc. Previously, Johnson held leadership roles at Milwaukee Public Schools and COA Youth and Family Centers and has served on the board of directors for organizations including the Black Child Development Institute – Milwaukee Affiliate and Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators. Johnson was elected to serve as an educator member to the Commission on Professional Excellence in Early Childhood Education in December 2022. She has received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Administration, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, an Associate’s Degree in Child Development, and numerous honors and certificates.
