Personal Rights When Traveling and at Airports
On Saturday, President Trump threatened to deploy ICE agents to airports unless an agreement was reached on the ongoing partial shutdown of DHS. Airports have been experiencing travel delays as a result of staffing shortages as TSA workers remain without pay during the shutdown.
On Monday, the administration began to deploy ICE agents to airports across the country. Reports indicate that ICE agents were sent to 14 airports, in cities including Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Newark, Houston, Chicago, Cleveland, Houston, New Orleans, Newark, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, South Fort Myers, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
