Data Informed Strategic Planning

Every team and organization wants to be successful and sustain their success. Strategic planning can seem like an overwhelming endeavor; however, there are structured and fun approaches that not only lead to better results but also improve team engagement and morale. Sometimes teams know what metric they want to improve, but they do not truly understand what the true “problem” is.

In addition, teams and organizations can become complacent, failing to recognize potential disruptions and missing opportunities. In this course/workshop, students will be introduced to four strategic planning approaches:

  • Future Thinking,
  • Pre-Mortem,
  • Analogous Research, and
  • Design Thinking.

Students will understand how each approach works, practice elements of each approach using their real-world scenarios, and understand how to select and facilitate the approach that’s most conducive to their unique environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn and understand new approaches to strategic planning.
  • Develop a creative and forward-thinking mindset to keep your team and organization proactive.
  • Be able to select and facilitate the approach that is best for your context and be prepared to adapt the approach accordingly.
