Join us at WaterFire for a once-in-a-century, family-friendly celebration honoring 100 years of Rhode Island community impact.  This powerful evening of music, storytelling and interactive activities marks our commitment to the next century, united thousands in a shared expression of generosity and hope for a Strong Rhode Island.

What to Expect

Activities begin at 4PM on October 17, followed by a full WaterFire lighting and a range of community-centered experiences, including:

• A torch procession and ceremonial lighting
• Community storytelling and nonprofit engagement
• Spaces for nonprofit and community partners from across Rhode Island
• Local business and downtown activations
• Flag installations and ceremonial elements representing Rhode Island's communities

WaterFire is a multisensory experience that has drawn hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city. This series of bonfires installed on the three rivers of Downtown Providence entices with aromatic wood smoke, flickering firelight and enchanting music.
