Managing employee leave can be a challenge, especially when dealing with overlapping state and federal leave laws such as FMLA, ADA, and various state-specific laws like MA PFML, CT PFL, and RI TDI. HR professionals often face confusion about how these laws interact and when they apply, while also trying to avoid leave abuse. This half-day program is designed to help you navigate the complexities of these leave laws and develop a clear strategy for managing leaves while remaining compliant.

Join us for an inclusive and energizing fundraiser created by our P.A.C.T. (Partners Advancing Change Together) group! Inspired by a conversation with our men's ally group—who reminded us that many women hesitate to join traditional golf outings with men due to lack of experience or confidence—this event is designed to flip the script. The tournament includes two rounds and is played in teams of six. Don’t have a full team? No problem—we’ll match you up with fellow attendees so everyone can participate and connect.

This session equips HR leaders and executives with the tools and process discipline needed to implement layoffs responsibly and effectively. Attendees will explore legal considerations, communication sequencing, stakeholder preparation, emotional dynamics of notification conversations, and strategies for rebuilding stability and performance after the transition. With a focus on dignity, clarity, and organizational stewardship, this program ensures the process supports, not harms, the long-term health of the workforce and the business.

The SAVE Act is back in sheep’s clothing, but don’t be fooled. It’s the same wolf underneath.. Supporters of the bill say that it is necessary to keep non-citizens from voting. Critics point out that only citizens can vote under federal law and warn that the bill only creates new hurdles with unintended consequences. Since the SAVE Act was first introduced in 2025, several states have advanced their own versions at the state level, bringing the complications closer to home for many nonprofits conducting nonpartisan voter engagement.
If you’re planning to do voter engagement this year (which we hope you are!), you’ll want to hear these updates to learn how it might impact your work and how to ensure our democracy stays equitable, accessible, and fair. Join us to hear from Andrew Garber at the Brennan Center, Daniel Griffith from the Voting Rights Lab, and more!
